1 – How Does a Solar PV System Work?
A Solar Photovoltaic System uses a combination of Solar Modules and an Inverter to harvest power from Sunlight. The Solar Modules, made of silicon, convert Sunlight to DC Electric Power (similar to battery power). The System Inverter then converts the DC Power to the AC Power we typically use in our homes and which is provided by our local power companies via the GRID.
2 – How much does Solar PV Cost?
There are many aspects and variations to this question. Our systems are custom designed with individual customer energy needs and specific installation requirements in mind. To get a rough estimate use $7 per installed watt as a basis. So for example: A 5K Solar PV System using the $7.25 number would run $7.25 X 5000W = $36,250 (base cost). There are currently Tax Credits both Federal and State as well as Utility Rebates that significantly offset the installed cost. 3 – Can I finance any or all of my Solar PV System?
Yes, we can help you get financing through several different programs. Your system can be added to your mortgage or it can be financed up to 20 years as part of a separate program offered by S2 Energy Partners, LLC, APS and EGIA.
